Hi i have a small application that i am trying to run through my Site. I
though that if i copied the contents of CDROM in to a Front Page folder then
Hyperlinked to the autorun.exe file then users would be able to access the
app. But this has not worked.

Is this possible to do ? and if so How??

Thank You

Don't know what you're really trying to do, but "autorun" has to do with
running programs or opening CD's automatically, not running things from a
hard drive or web server or whatever.

I have some documents on a cd that i want people to be able to access through
my website. when using the cd i put it in the drive and then a program opens
up and i can select what documents i want to view.

I would like to have a link on my website so when a user clicks on it the
same program opens up and they can select a document to view.

You can't run exe's from a website - that would be bad.

You could zip the exe so that it would download to the user's machine and at
their peril unzip, install and run it.

The documents you want folk to view - they'd have to be in a format
that the site visitor can open and view... remember not everyone has
all the "viewers" required, or the particular program you used ot
create the document, eg Word Excel etc etc.. not everyone would have
these installed, there are file Viewers available to downlaod and
instal - if your Documents are in a format that requires a particular
program, it might pay to search to see if there's a free viewer program
available - and make a link to this first, for the site visitor to
download. Another choice would be to convert the documents into a more
"universal" format where the visitor is very likely to already have a
viewer ~ perhaps PDF ?
Adobe acrobat reader is fairly well distributed and installed on most
Pc's these days, but agian - a link to the download site woudl stil be
advisable - do the searchig for the visitor yourself, and save htem the
trouble, their more likely to click and instal, than if they had to
search for it themselves.
