I've got an Access 97 database which no longer displays any of the tables,
queries, forms or reports in the database window. When you open the
database, the database window appears, but all the object windows are empty.
I tried using Tools - Database Utilities - Repair, but that only displays
the message "Operation invalid without a current index."
Clicking on any of the tabs in the database window causes Access to display
this message:
" " isn't an index in this table. Look in the indexes collection of the
TableDef object to determine the valid index names."
Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I do have backups, but
we'll lose a day's worth of data entry. But possibly worse, I'm concerned
that the backup file contains the preconditions that might lead to the same
crash in the future. So I've got two questions:
1. Is there a way to fix this file, and
2. What, if anything, can I do to prevent a reoccurrence?
Thanks in advance.
