Can you open new windows UNDER old ones?

Is there a Registry trick to force (right-click) "Open in New Window" to
open new browser windows underneath the current one? That way, you wouldn't
have to bring it back to the foreground each time. This applies to IE6.

For example, on Google or Yahoo! News, it would be useful for opening news
stories in separate windows without losing focus on the main page.

It would also be a good way to emulate tabbed browsing until they improve
IE7 (I don't like the new toolbar layout).

Hi,
No guarantees, but try...

IE6 on Windows XP:

886217- New program window appears behind all other open windows on Windows
2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=886217
*** You will want the decimal value for the ForegroundLockTimeout registry
entry to be 200000.

Note (in that article) that TweakUI can make the registry edit, if you don't
wish to do it manually.
*** You want to check (not uncheck) "Prevent applications from stealing
focus"

The Prevent Applications from Sealing Focus file at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm (line #66
right-side) makes the same registry edit.

Hope this helps,

Actually, that's the inverse of my situation. There's nothing wrong with my
computer. I _want_ new IE browser windows to open under/behind the current
window so I can keep focus on it. I have 56k and it's convenient to right-
click a bunch of links (like various news stories) and wait for them all to
load. Then, I read them later from the Taskbar as pseudo tabbed browsing.

The focus setting was already checked by default in TweakUI. I think I'll
just have to live with it since it's not an actual "problem." IE is the
only place I'd want new windows to open underneath old ones. It would be a
nuisance in other programs.
