Can you move your first DC in the Domain to another Server?

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if it was possible to move the first domain controller
to a new server? We are consolidating servers and ditching our old DC
server, however we need to move it to the new server taking it's place. Is
this possible, and what's the process?

Hi Alex-

Yes you can do this however you must be sure to have all your FSMO roles
moved to another DC. Then you can run dcpromo on the original dc and remove
it from service.
