Please explain - Sometimes I need to create a homemade
data form in Microsoft Word. In my original text, I
establish headings and data entry points down the left-
hand side of the page. At a later point in time, new
information is obtained and this new information is added
and inserted into various pre-assigned points in the
form. My problem is that if I have a number of pages of
this type of form and I need to insert information into
any line of it, the insertion of the new information
requires a new line, pushing all formerly existing
information not only down the page I'm working on, (which
can be expected and is O.K.) but all text and material is
pushed down every page thereafter so that, what once was
an established, finished text page of information, set to
specific top and bottom margins, is now pushed down its
page resulting in some text falling past the page break
and onto the next page- which is not desired or O.K. As
a result, my headings and text appear haphazardly laid
and unfixed. A data track or form on, for example, page
15, (which formerly seemed logical and perfectly laid out
with a heading appearing two lines down from the top),
because of the injection of information in some page
above, the origianl data is now pushed down two, four or
whatever spaces the newly inserted information has taken
up in the page above. Is there some way to lock or fix
the pages, so that even if new information is inserted,
pages below will maintain their layout position,
regardless of the insertion of new information on new
lines?
