Can you increase frame rate above 30fps

Hi everyone I am new to this hole video lark and have been editing a few of
my first films. I have noticed that my frame rate looks better on my cameras
LCD where as the capture looks to have not as good frame rate. I have it set
to capture at the highest level possible but the results still are a bit off
the pace.

Would this be due to me using USB2 rather than Fire wire (DV) ??

Any help would be great and I will keep searching for more info on this

Movie Maker 2's project editing/preview environment is 15 fps (12-1/2
PAL)... maybe that's what you're looking at? But the rendered saved movie is
the frame rate you select.

Ok I see what you mean but even when I save it still does not seem to run as
msoothly as it does on the Camera LCD. Whats the best format when capturing?

Firewire capture gives you the best source files....
