What I am looking for is a freeware program that would allow you to create a
file of a schedule that can be imported into just about any calendar, but in
particular, MS-Outlook. Other calendars could include, but not be
exclusive... the calendar extension for Mozilla's Firefox and Thunderbird.
Also, I think MSN and Yahoo have calendars... but also things like PDMs.
Example.
Suppose you wanted your local high school football schedule. On the high
school's home page, they would have "this" file that you could download and
then import into your calendar. In my case, Outlook.
In this idea program, I'd want to cherrypick a little. Maybe download
selected games... like home games only... etc.
Another example.
I am an alcoholic. In my metro community, there are 150 weekly AA meetings.
I manually added the meetings that I normally go to, but I wouldn't mind if
all meetings could be imported from one file.
In the ideal, ideal world, I'd want this amazing program to import a file
and first delete all previous weekly AA meetings and then import the new
file. In other words, if a meeting is discontinued or information is
changed, I don't want the old information out there.
Again, in this "idealistic" program, I'd want to add things like "type of
meeting", instructions for parking and directions in the given building.
Also, if it is an organization, the appointment information could include a
link to the organization's home page for more details.
Oh ya, one more thing. I'd want to be able to "show time as" -- busy, free,
or Discretionary.
What the heck, one more dream. You should be able to set reminders or no
reminders and when they should kick out.
I know I am dreaming. However, I can't help there is a little program that
will create a file of meetings that can be imported by outlook.
Thanks.
