Can you change Contact list defaults?

Is there a way to change the Full name display on the contact list to a "last
name first" order by default? I know you can change the individual contacts
with the pulldown menu in the contact edit window but I'd like that to happen
by default rather than the current "first name first" order. If not, is
there a way to change the order for all contacts at once or does it have to
be done individually? Just to be clear I'm not talking about sorting on the
last name column. I want the full name display appearing as "Smith, Bob" vs.
"Bob Smith" Anybody know if that's possible?

Don't know if this will sort your problem? Open the select recipients box
when creating an email and click on the Name heading... it cycles thru 4
different sortings... (and sticks on the chosen one).

Thanks V, that is helpful and works for the Select Recipient screen but not
for the contact list itself. I'm still looking for away to change the default
