The title says it all... Can XP pro host multiple
websites at the same time? They are NOT on a domain and I
have a small personal webpage on it now, but want to add
a separate business web. I am using a router and can put
in an additional NIC if that'd help.
Any idea?

Thanks in advance, Mike

Depends on what you mean by multiple websites.

PWS (or IIS for XP Pro) can host multiple websites by using what is called
"Host header" functionality. Websites here meaning someone typing
www.foo.com or www.foo2.com or even host1.foo.com or host2.foo.com.

I guess what I mean is can it support more than one web
site that aren't related to each other. They'll come in
on the same internet IP address, but I can set it up to
where each one would come in to its own NIC if needed. I
also wondered if I should use different ports for this or
what. I've hosted my own and set up a lot of small
businesses on thiers, but never had the need for more
than one per server/IP.
Thanks!
Mike

Actually with host headers you can run each website on the same PC which use
the same IP, network card and port #. The host header simply handles the
request to hte appropriate folder where a secondary site lives.

e.g.

Primary web goes to \inetpub\wwwroot

secondary web goes to \somenameofweb

Look at the host header information in the help file.
