Having a problem with my DEll 8200 P2.4. System
periodically just dies, monitor goes black, ON button
turns from Green to amber. Restarting PC goes right to
amber light again. System would not come up. Dell tech had
me unplug and replug PC & then run Diagnostics for
included CD. This worked. Diagnostic ran for 15 hours
without showing any problems with system. He originally
thought it was the power Supply. Now says it is your
Operating System & not their hardware causing it.
Possible?? Do I need to reinstall operating system?? Can
this be done without reformating C: drive?

No, the operating system would not cause the problems
you describe. My bet is your power supply is intermittently
shorting out or you have some loose connections within
your computer. Unplug your computer, open the case,
then reseat all your wiring/cabling connections.
