Can XP be booted from a USB drive

Hi,

If I have XP loaded on a USB drive, will it boot? The CMOS can boot from
USB. The C: has been cloned to a usb drive.

No, you'd need to perform one of the hack installs you can find via a Google
search, XP and Vista don't support booting from a USB drive.
 
Not really, no. With a great deal of thinkering some have claimed to
make this work but it isn't supported as such and for all intents and
purposes it doesn't quite work.

yeh you can boot via usb

basically what it entails is a
special program from hp that
will do a "special" format
on a "2gig" flash drive.

don't remember what else
i needed to do when i made
mine.

it was a fun project and i could
boot with it. but didn't need it
and ended up reformatting
it for pics and docs.
