Can XP and Vista computers co-exist in the same workgroup?

After installing my 3rd Vista computerat home, I can no longer see the old XP
computers from my Vista computers and viceversa (up to the 2nd one I
could..). The Vista ones can see each other, but the XP cannot any longer...
I have defined again the workgroup name to no avail...

Does anybody have any idea what I did wrong and how to reverse it?

Many thanks...

There are several possible reasons for problems like yours.

The most common is a personal firewall, blocking browser traffic (which lets the
computers "see" each other).

Look carefully at the NetBT setting, and personal firewall settings.

On Vista, bring up Networks. Right-click on your network connection, select
Properties. There should be a way there to switch from Public to Private,
and that would allow all your Vista and XP boxes to see each other.
