Can Windows 95 be installed over XP?

Ive recently got my hands on a second hand computer
running Windows XP and want to install windows 95 to run
some old software. Does anyone know if this will be a
problem? I thought there may be a risk of a software
clash if Windows XP has already got its claws into the
system.

I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but it seems the
Hard Drive has been converted from Pal to NTSC...

Any help would be much appreciated

Chris;
Do you mean converted from FAT 32 to NTFS?
You can not run Windows 95/98/ME on NTFS, so the answer is no.
There are other reasons why this would not work as well.
Buy an old computer very cheap for your Windows 95 the old software.

Hello
you can not just install 95 in the same drive as XP
you can only upgrade not downgrade
but you can use a startup disk run the fdisk and delete
the partitions and start all over and run the startup
disk and format C: and then you can install the 95 CD
there are several different options you can do if you
have the XP CD's
Dual Boot System
2 different Hardrives
exc,ect
Hope this is helpful
Jim
