Can we upgrade win xp pro to Windows 2000 Adv Server?

Hi!

We have a machine currently running Windows XP Pro that
we would like to upgrade to Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
We know that there probably is no upgrade path for the
OSes, but, what we would like to do is overwrite the OS
while keeping the file system intact, as XP Pro is
currently formatted NTFS. This would enable us to keep
thousands of files that are currently on the hard drive
without having to do a backup and restore. Thanks for

Overwriting the OS while keeping the files intact IS and upgrade. As you
stated there is no upgrade path so a format and reinstall is required.

There is no "upgrade" path between a workstation OS and a Server OS.
