In XP, I used Thumbnails a lot especially with pictures.

I can't seem to find a right click>Thumbnails view like in XP.

Can't believe Vista did away with that feature????

please and thank you.

Just classic Microsoft bungling. In Vista, depending on where you
look, thumbnails are given different names. In Windows Explorer
they're called icons. You pick from small, medium, large or extra
large.

Confused? If you checked "always show icons, never thumbnails" under
folder options regardless what you pick thumbnails won't show.

So on the menu bar for Explorer thumbnails are called icons while the
same thing is referred to as thumbnails under folder options.

There is no right click option to show thumbnails. Oops I mean icons.
In fact if you don't elect to show menu bar under Organize/layout
common and much used features like copy and paste don't even show.

Go to the VIEW menu and choose "large Icons" does the same thing as Thumbnails.

Not on my machine unfortunately.
Large Icon selection shows.... A LARGE ICON, a Paint Shop Pro icon with the
picture name below it such as: birdhouse1.jpg

It's a jpeg format picture.

And Extra Large Icon shows a square frame, with the Paint shop pro icon in
the center.

Is this a recent change? I suspect something related to image editing has
by-passed the service that Windows uses to generate thumbnails, either that
or it was disabled as part of a range of so-called "performance tweaks".

I suspect Paint Shop Pro is the culprit here. Try changing their
association back to something like Windows Photo Gallery (right click an
image go to Properties -> Change).

See if that clears it up.

GREAT!

But next time, post your success to the original thread so people stop
