Hi,

Can Vista Backup tool include folders that I specify, or is it just the
basic tickbox choices?

Info:
I want to specify a folder and back that up each night. Vista Automatic
Backup only lists which hard drive I can include, and then asks for which
device I backup to, then which files types (photos, movies etc). There
doesn't appear to be an "advanced" option, which lets me click on each
folder and put a X for it to be backed up.

Would choosing "other" give me access to the folder view? It's backing up
right now and I don't want to cancel because it's taking a while to do the
backup.

Thanks.

If you use Automatic Backups in the Backup and Restore Center you cannot
selectively back up files and folders although you can restore selectively
from those backups. All files of certain file types get backed up. If you
need to select files and folders to backup then you need to consider a
different backup solution. Sorry.

Thanks Colin for responding and informing me of that. We have gone for
Acronis TrueImage v11, which seems pretty good on the XP Home pc
(workstation version doesn't work on XP Home).

I'll create a new thread because I've got further backup questions.

Thanks.
