hi
since a week every time i open my outlook xp pro 2002
i get a window with the following message:
AN EXTENSION FAILED TO INITILAIZE. CAN`T OPEN FILE:
extend.dat. THE FILE MAY NOT EXIST, YOU MAY NOTHAVE
PERMISSION TO OPEN IT, OR IT MAY BE OPEN IN ANOTHER
PROGRAM. RIGHT-CLICK THE FOLDER THAT CONTAINS THE FILE,
AND THEN CLICK PROPERTIES TO CHECK YOUR PERMISSIONSFOR
THE FOLDER. YOU DO NOT HAVE APPROPRIATE PERMISSION TO
PREFORM THIS OPERATION.
********************************************************
i do not what does this mean or what does this do, but it
bothers me getting this mess every time i open the outlook
any advises please how to fix this ?
thank you
elvin

With Outlook closed, find and rename the file to extend.old. Outlook will
rebuild the file the next time it opens.
