HAve you installed any new hardware lately..? RAM..????

XP clean install errors are usually associated with bad ram ...

I've been using the following soft that deletes any file **edited** It is not free, but it is good.

Errors during a clean install with XP and working hardware are usually due to the SATA mode setting in the bios. Change the mode and then install (you may need the driver during install on floppy, it's the only reason why I have a usb floppy drive).
When you have installed XP change the setting back.

You must remember that the default setting is usually the recommended setting and that branded computers / laptops are usually loaded via a sys prep image on the hard-disk.

yes this laptop came with prep image on the harddrive and no cd came with it.

Just a cheap way for company saving money.

Think the only way am going to get this to work is a re-load cd for xp do can,t be ass.

Windows 7 works fine on it so there no worry there if i upgrade.
