I have been tring to download explorer 6 any after it is
downloaded it will not work. It states that
windows\system\nomctl32dll was not downloaded properly and
it will not run right, in fact not much of anything run
right, so I am forced to reformat the whole hard drive to
fix it. I have never had a download problem before. My
computer is about 1 1/2 yrs old with 192mb of memory and
am running windows 98. Does anyone know what the problem
could be.

Thx Jim

could be Win98... wait - can I say that here?? ;-)

You could look up that particular error on this site -
typing in that file name and Windows 98. That's the
hopeful answer.

However last time I ran into something like this, there
was disk corruption that was preventing the proper copy
of a single particular file. The person I had to fix had
corruption that damaged windows and in fact did require a
reload. This isn't as likely now in Windows 2000 and
Windows XP, but can still happen with viruses.

I'm not really sure, but after looking up the specific
error in MS's online support, I'd next start with a
scandisk and see if there are errors. A virus check may
be worth it too. If, as you say, nothing is working
well, your problem may be bigger than you think.

Good luck.

Tom
