Can someone who is familiar with motherboards check something for me?

Here is a link for my mobo's manual:

For anyone that is familiar with mobo's, if I disconnect the "Front
Audio"(meaning the audio jacks that are on the front top of the case and not
the ones in the rear), should that disable my onboard sound? I disconnected
the Front Audio and then my onboard sound has since stopped? Does this make
sense? What else could disable my onboard sound?

I am an idiot.........nevermind........I figured it out.

Ask on a different board. This question has nothing to do with WinXP
and hardware.

Well, if you disabled your frontside audio and then your onboard sound
became disabled, wouldn't that tend to indicate that if you disable your
frontside audio it affects your onboard sound by disabling it? If you then
enable your frontside audio and then your onboard sound becomes enabled, I'd
say that there's a real "cause & effect" here, no?

Seriously, it *is* possible, depending upon how the motherboard's audio
connections were designed & configured. It's certainly not the usual
scenario but it's possible. Is there any problem in just keeping your
frontside audio enabled? There wouldn't seem to be any harm in doing so,
would there?
