Can slowwwwwww BCM be sped up?

I'm using Outlook2003w/BCM, but it seems to take forever to enter, save,
link things. Linking an email, entering a business note, entering a meeting
date/time, even just saving a BCM contact... takes up to 10 seconds in some
cases. It even seems to slow down as the day wears on, which really doesn't
make sense. Is there *anything* at all that could be done to speed this up.

Don't think it's this PC, which is fairly new and fast. Or things running
in the background, there's not much other than anti-virus and usual stuff,
plus everything else runs fast. Or a maintenance issue, I tried clearing
out deleted items and compacting, and that sped it up some but not a
lot...and the PC itself gets frequent maintenance--defrags, anti-everything
scans, old file cleanouts, etc..

Would appreciate any suggestions/insights, but assuming the real answer will
likely fall back to "wait until the next, or next after next version?

Thanks,
G

BCM is slow - so it's hard to guess if it's slower than normal for you or if
there is anything you can do to speed it up.

If you aren't already doing this, minimize Outlook when not actively using
it - it tends to take as much resources as it wants and doesn't release them
on its own. Minimizing it will release them.
