Hi
I have a peculiar problem with sharing. Desktop is XP SP2, laptop is Vista Home Premium. Both comps can see shares on
the other using either simple sharing or password protected sharing.
The XP machine can read/write any file I have tried to/from Vista.
The Vista machine can see all files on the XP shares, can open many of them, but says I don't have permission to open
others. If, on the XP machine, I copy an offending file (most recent example prog.sql ->Copy of prog.sql) then the copy
can be opened from the Vista PC, but the original can't.
I can't see any difference in ownership, rights etc between those I can open and those I can't.
Any suggestions, please?
Thanks
