There are no error messages. (Don't get me going on that, Vista and I are
not loving each other right now)

My configuration is exactly as it is in my laptop. Bitdefender is not
interferring, it does not have a firewall but I did try turning it off in
case it was. I'm leaning more towards email identities. I see that this is
no longer used or supported and I can find a section that tells me 'windows
mail detects multiple email identites.' If I follow the 'wizard', pick
option one or three it tells me it already deleted or imported the identity.
If I pick option 2 it asks me to sign into another users account. I'm not
aware of any other account.

(What configuration data do you need?) Also, I'm not trying to get anything
from OE, I'm too frustrated to even consider tackling that one today.

Thank-you Steve :)

Is this an upgrade over WinXP?
Do you get the message about multiple identities every time you open
WinMail?
What choices do you make?
How many accounts have you made in WinMail?

I am having the same issue. It seems to have started as soon as I downloaded
McAfee. I have no idea how to fix this.

Hi Steve,

Are some of the folders hidden? When I go to c:\users\name\AppData\local...
\AppData\ is not there.

BTW, it is vista prem. Not an upgrade, brand new computer. HP desktop
a1730n. I'm getting ready to see if it has built in wings ; )

Go to Control Panel | Folder Options | View and you can enable showing
hidden files.

Hi Steve,

I did find it last night, but Thank-you. You have been very patient.

From what I am reading if I get Office 2007 and use Outlook it will solve
all of these issues. I don't know if I will be able to use my hotmail
address but I should be able to use my adelphia email since it is not 'http'
based.

Check to make sure you are using the correct SMTP server number. Compare
that with your other machine. Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties |
Advanced.
