I just lost my outlook for some reason and had to reset
it up. Before, my contacts list was my personal address
book. Now, I can see all my contacts (I found and
retrieved them) when I pull up the contacts, but the
personal address book, from which I rely on sending new
messages, is empty. How do I link those together?

Newest one, came with XP Professional. When I go
to "to" I see the little book, but no list is there.
When I go to the contacts icon, my list is there.

I assuming its Outlook 2002, try removing the Outlook Address Book Service
and re-adding it. To do this go to Tools > Email Accounts > select "View or
change existing directories or address books" > NEXT > highlight the Outlook
Address Book > select Remove > Finish. Re-add it back in and
restart Outlook.

Outlook version? Have you located your .pab file?
