I am moving all my IP printers from one W2K server (server1) to another W2K
server(server2). Both are on the same domain. I am also changing the IP
addresses of all the printers so they are in a dedicated range of addresses.
I made a reservation in DHCP, and the printer took the IP address. After
changing the IP address of the printer, I was able to print from my original
print server just like always. I then went to add the printer to server2,
and the server can't see it. In fact, I can't even ping the new IP address.
This is very frustrating, because it seems I can ping the printer IP address
from every workstation and or server in the domain except this one server.
This is about the 30th printer I have added to this server. I tried changing
the printer's IP address to something different, but get the same result.
The printer is an HP LaserJet 4000, and I am ordering a new NIC card for it,
hoping that will fix it (plus it is always good to have a spare), but I have
doubts that is the issue, because it works fine from all other workstations
and servers. Has anyone else seen an issue like this?
