I am on a broadband connection, after some time, i am unable to surf
the internet, but i can ping all the sites.

Only after i disable my lancard, and enable it, i am able to surf
again.

Please advice, thanks

When you say you can ping, is it by both IP and URL? or just one of them?
I'd try all the simple stuff as far as cleaning IE. Since enabling/disabling
your network card fixes the issue for a bit, it seems related to your IP
address. Might be worthwhile to check the lease - seen some 1h leases cause
a lot of surf ability, but they usually lose the ability to ping as well.
I'd try a winsock repair (nice and easy on sp2).

I can ping, the ip, and the url both. when i ping, i do get the dns
request, which converts the url into an ip.

I have a static ip assigned to my lan card, so the question about lease
doesnot arise.

How do i do a winsock repair ?

Thanks.

Assuming you're using Windows XPSP2....
Start | Run
type
NETSH WINSOCK REPAIR
click OK
reboot and see if that's helped.

you may have spyware
Such errors are often caused by spyware - download AdAware from
www.lavasoftusa.com, install, update, and run it to remove spyware, adware,
and other such nasties from your system.

also run the LSPFix from here if you're using Win9x or an earlier (less
secure) version of XP
