Can PC write using SD Memory adapter in the USB?

I have seen these SD card adapters to plug a card into the USB
port. (Instead of using a lead to transfer the data from a device
such as a digita camera.)

In general do these apaters permit the PC to write to the SD Card?

Yes. "In general," the SD cards are formatting using FAT16/32 and most
operating systems can handle that. I'm unaware of any adapter that
limits write access, outside of the write protect mechanism built into
the card.
