(Also posted in general outlook thread)

I'm using XP home, Outlook, and Business contact manager (updated).

Is there any way to use a thumbdrive so that Outlook uses the database from
the thumbdrive. Trying to make something work for work and home. I don't
need to use outlook's email program from work necessarily, but if I
do....that info must not be copied on my thumbdrive for security reasons. I
do need to keep all my contacts, tasks, calendar private though, ...thus the
desire to use a thumbdrive for that data while at work. Is there a way to
set this up?

An add on here.....I re-read my earlier post,....and want to clarify if this
is true or not.......IF you are using a database(BCM updated) that uses SQL,
does that make it impossible to use a thumbdrive for the database destination?

While not impossible (take it from someone who managed to setup a RAID array
of thumb drives at a Microsoft event and put Exchange on that... ;-), it is
not advisable.

You can access your data while in the hostile environment in other ways:
Share your BCM database with another user and connect to it over a network
using VPN
Install Pocket BCM on your Windows Mobile 2003 device
Backup BCM to a thumb drive and restore that at your other location
Connect to your secure PC using something like Gotomypc, Logmein, or WebEx.
