Hello,

I've been considering getting Outlook 2003 (not with the full Office Suite).
Can Outlook 2003 work with Word 2002 so as to provide Wordmail?

Thanks,

Jeff

No. For that feature, and several others (including using Word for mail
merge), the versions of Word and Outlook must match.

Question related to mixing Outlook 2003 with older Office
versions...
I have Office XP Small Business (even though I'm not a
business). I saw that Outlook 2003 has new spam features
and wanted to get it. I can't afford Office 2003 Small
Business. I don't need to use special features that have
been mentioned here such as Wordmail or Mail Merge.
So would Outlook 2003 perform it's basic functions when
installed over Office XP?
Another alternative since I'm a student is to get Office
2003 for Student and install it. Would there be problems
installing the Office for Student over Office for Small
Business?
Thanks,
Steve

I don't think those scenarios would cause problems; however, I'm not an
expert in that area -- you might want to repost your question in a new
thread so it gets more attention.

I have tried it and Outlook 2003 wants Word 2003 to allow Outlook to use
word as the editor.

The choices under the mail format tab are:

Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages.
Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to read rich text e-mail messages.
