I have completed a picture slide show with music...I scanned the pictures in
and got some from a private website for my cousins wedding...I want to save
them in avi or mpeg but can not and need to be able to convert them to one or
both of these can someone help find out how to save in one of these formates
from windows movie maker...under save as only offers msww extensions....Help
please this is a wedding gift and they have already been married over two
months...want to get it completed

The MSWMM is just the file extension for the Movie Maker project. You want
to select File...Save Movie File from the menu, then you can choose to
create a WMV or an AVI video file by selection the relevant options (to
create an AVI file select Other settings and then DV-AVI from the pull down
list.

Just wanted to say thank you for your help, have been able to make into a
DV-AVI file but had to zip it in order to save to cd now need to figure out
how to get it to MPEG file so can play on dvd player...any suggestions....

Download one of the TMPGEnc.... packages. I use version 2.5+, which you can
try for 30 days..... other newer versions read like they are easier to use
but I haven't tried any of them. Here's the link:

You should have gotten DVD software with your DVD burner, assuming you're
working toward a DVD. The software can do the conversion from the DV-AVI
file.

If you use Nero to burn the project (after you convert it to .avi) it
automatically saves it as mpeg1. I just did it and it worked out PERFECTLY
:-D

Did you read Dean's response below?
You can't change the extension from .MSWMM because the project has to end
with that extension.
IN other words you are saving it incorrectly. As Dean said you need to
select "Save Movie File"
or simply press CTRL+P on your keyboard to open the save movie wizard to
save your movie.
