Can only play my movie on a rewritable drive?

I have made a movie of my girls in venice and would like
to send it to them. But I can only replay it on my CDRW
drive. When I tried it on my CD rom drive it would not
recognize it. I took it to a friends house to see if he
could play it on his CD rom player. But he also could
only play it on his CDRW drive. What am I doing wrong or
what is the problem?
 
I believe that when you burn movies on many CD-RW discs that it only allows you to play the disc in rewritable drives or dvd players that are capable to play rewritable discs. This has happened in my house before and to solve the problem we simply tried to use CD-R or DVD-R discs instead and it worked fine. And since you're interested in using it on your CD ROM drive I would try the CD-R discs. Hope you have some luck with that because I'm not an expert I'm just letting you know what has been successful for me.
