Hello,
I posted the same problem on 11-5, and have been unable to resolve the
issue. My computer will only boot occassionally and only in the safe mode. I
believe that I suffered from a problem identified in a recent service
bulletin regarding security vulnerablities with the SP2 update. I have swept
my system of both viruses and spyware; when eliminating the viruses I used
Trend Micro's House Call which idenfied 10 Trojans that I deleted. Norton
hadn't detected the problem. I have tried system restore without success. I
use Xp as my operating system and XP Professional as my software package. The
updates are current.
Do I need to uninstall the XP software and then reinstall? If so, please
provide instructions.
Thank you,
Mark
