I have two domain controller running w2k sp3.

And I can only logon to one of them.

If shut down DC 1 no one can login but if I shut down DC 2 or have them both
up and running everyone can login.

Is there any way to test if I can logon to then without shuting down the
server?

Hi Scotty-

I would recommended merely disconnecting the network cable as alternate
test.

For logon to succeed, your clients need DC, DNS server and a Global Catalog
server. If anyone of them is missing, then the clients will have problems
logging on to the network. Make both DC's global catalog server and DNS
servers.
