Can one form field create a record in two different tables once?

I am building a form with a sub-form, but in order for the sub form to work
it will need a corresponding table to have a field that has the same field as
the master form table. Can someone please tell me how to go about this?

Thanks for this. I am still finding my feet with Access after ploughing
through quite a weighty manual on it. Can you please tell me how to make
this join field happen? Do I need to do something to the field properties of
the relevant tables to make this happen? I am very grateful for your help.

Dear Lynn

Many thanks for your help with this one. I wanted to tell you yesterday,
but the Microsoft website said that their newsgroup server was down/not
working. When I put in 'join fields' into the Access help, it all began to
make sense. You provided the right keywords to take me to the table
relationships window. After that, I just needed to deal with duplicate
record issues and that was quite straight forward. And then it ALL worked as
it was supposed to!

God bless you and thanks,

Stephen
