I did the (32bit) update inside of XP SP2 from the DVD I ordered from MS.
During the install (still inside of XP) it asked for the KEY. I enteted it
and the install continued.
When I finally got to the booting of Vista, it shows my name and pic to
click on. When I do this, it pops up a window to validate Vista AGAIN???? But
now it will not take my KEY! And there is no way to get to the desktop. I see
that there is a setting for "automatically validate on connection" that was
checked off. This must be the problem where I can not even get to the
desktop, but it still does not answer why the KEY I got inside the DVD case
does not work. And it is not because of a network connection, cause like
others have said, if they use the help button, I can still get to MS from
MSIE. I have tried to validate a number of times now, for over 4 hours! Any
suggestions? Perhaps somewhere in the registry where I could turn off the
"automatically validate on connection" to at least get inside Vista?
Thanks
