hi all!

a little help please! starting yesterday i haven't been able to use the fast
user switching ability whether i try to use the "start-log off-switch user
route" or by pressing the "Win key and the letter L"....when i press the win
key+L, a box appears that says the computer is locked and only an
administrator can unlock it and to supply a password to open it again....i'm
using xp home sp2...

i hope i'm explaining this well....

anyway, thanks in advance to anyone who will be willing to help me!

mae

Have you checked the Fast User Switching Service is running or not? To check
click Start - Run - type Services.msc and press Enter key. Double-click the
Service and check it status. if it is not running then click Start button
within and see if this helps.

Let us know!

mae,

Did you use third-party utilities to customize the "Welcome Screen" perhaps,
using utilities such as LoginStudio, any other Theme tools or by manually
ResHack'ing the UIHost?

Example:

sarah. word.: Hack Your XP Login Screen:
http://sarahlane.typepad.com/sarahword/2004/06/windows_tweak_h.html

If you've done any of the above, then switch users option may not work.
