can not upload

My system will not allow me to upload my pictures, the system is very slow and it stops, then a pop up says virtual memory is low. What can I do to clean my computer to work faster and restore my virtual memory?
 
Run Disk Cleanup and Disk Defrag . Programs > Accessories > System Tools
