Hi everyone

I get home from school, then i start up my computer, then this pops up.

Ok this really sucks im starting to hate vista more and more. I start up my
computer and it says that

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the
cause. To fix the problem:

1.Insert you windows installation disc and restart your computer. (It didnt
come with a installation disc, it just came with a windows vista "Upgrade any
time any where" cd =(
2.Chose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3.Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer
manufacturer for assistance.

File: ndisrd.sys

status 0xc0000098

info: windows failed to load because a required file is mission or corrupt.

PS:I'm on my XP comp

I have tried many things. But still give suggestions please. Im on an
Acer, Aspire.

If you need any additional info, please ask for it and i'll be happy to give
it.

Thankyou.

Reinstall OS, I suggest Linux or XP. Vista is not working and it will take
some time before we, the customers, solve the problem .
Miscrosoft using e us as testers. O.K.?

That's not very helpful...

Tell us more about your computer...did you purchase this? If so, from whom,
and when? Did you install any software or hardware right before getting this
error? Have you had any hard disk errors before?

Just looking the traffic at this news group , it is obvious that Vista is
bigger initial failure then XP . Nothing, just nothing in Vista is not
working correctly.

Maybe a few refresher lessons in English will assist you in further posts.
Afraid my 'nothing' is working OK.

Bullshit...pure and simple.
There is only one thing to be dome with unreliable witnesses
and downright liars... Plonk.

O.K. my English maybe sucks , it is not my "mother's" language, but your
whole atitude also sucks , You "LORD". Beter help if You can . But I think
that nobody (but time) can not help that Vista works .

There is 13 news groups named "Vista" on this server , all full of problems.
Very impressive result for such short period .

Hmm.....

Really? Then you apparently weren't around the XP groups in late 2001,
'cause to my recollection they were certainly much busier than these are.
The windowsxp.general group alone ran well over a 1,000 posts per day for
the first year. On average, the Vista counterpart is running about 600 by my
reckoning. Plus, there were 25 separate topic-specific groups to split and
share the load then taking some of the pressure off of the .general group,
as compared to only 12 for Vista now. If anything, the numbers I see tell me
there are far fewer problems with Vista initially than there were with XP.
Nothing, just nothing in Vista is not working correctly.

Double negative, which when removed leaves "Vista is working correctly".
Good statement, as that seems to be the case with my machines.

That was just a typing mistake, one negation was my intention.
In my case, Vista is a pain in .... .
Not worth the money I gave for it.
But looks nice, I agree.

Hi,

Ndisrd.sys is a networking file, and one that has been targeted by malware
in the past. Had the machine been running an active, updated antivirus
program?

FWIW, the majority of problems I am seeing aren't Vista's, but rather
running it on under-powered/incompatible/unsupported hardware or from
installing software into it that was designed for it. Vista has been 5 years
in the making, the early releases and basic specifications have been in
circulation since 2003, the release date was forecast almost a year in
advance, so vendors don't really have too good of an excuse for not having
programming changes completed and drivers written in time for release. They
either simply chose not to, or are trying to force purchase of new versions
or components.

Vista on supported hardware with proper drivers, running applications
designed for it (and even some in compatibility mode), is as smooth as
glass.

?????? Sorry this part I don't understand, it wasn't my problem.

Sorry, but I don't agree with You.

My hardware :
Processor Intel Pentium D 945 3,40 GHz (800MHz,4000KB,S775)
MB Asus P5L 1394
HDD Sewagate 250 GB SATA II,
nVidia PciX Gainward Bliss 7600GS
RAM DDR2 PQI Turbo 2x512 MB,667MHz
DVD Pioneer
Hiper 350W ATX .

Windows Experience Index : 4,5

No problems with Drivers .
Every day some program freezes, even 5-10 times daily: most often IE, Media
Player, Windows Explorer etc etc. Then Vista start to explore problem but
solution never comes. It is really collecting my private data, isn't it ?
Big brother is watching you.
I have dual boot, diferent partiton with XP, no problems with XP. I still
preffer Vista because is new and looks nice and Media Center is great but
half of day I spend restarting PC. And still, I can not shut down my Windows
, except with 4 second pressure on main button. I can turn Sleep on, but I
can not awake PC again if I turn on sleep function.
You must be some Microsoft emploeye?

And finally, My Vista is slow, slower then XP.

M.Peco

I'd disagree...my Vista laptop is lean, mean, fast, and rock solid after 3
weeks of heavy use. I think a lot of the problem that appears to be Vista is
really caused by junkware that OEMs install, some of which isn't even Vista
compatible...
