Can not remove programs

I have a HP with XP 120gig HD,512megs RAM

In add /remove programs the add/remove is gone. I tried to reinstall a
program and it will not let me. I tried to restore to a previous date and
it went through the motions

but said it could not restore.

I ran the sfc /scannow thingy and still will not let me remove a program.

I fired up the machine in safe mode and still the same problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

.The add/remove folder is just for ease of use,does the

program you are trying to uninstall have the feature
listed in the programs menu? If not try this
Right click on start then left click on explore.Look for
the program its most likely in program files once you
find it open each folder related to it you might luck out
and find the uninstall option look for something that
says unwise or uninstall double click on it.
