Can not receive mail

My email does not receive email. I can send but when I try to receive it
connects and then disconnects. There are no other messages. I went and
closed my Norton but that did not seem to help
 
What happens when you click on Send/Receive?

Windows Mail is not compatible with most Norton and
McAfee security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
