We have just installed a new Vista machine to our network.. It has fixed ip..
Fire wall is turned of, Defender is turned off.. We have McAfee installed
but do not have the McAfee firewall installed... We use McAfee on all of our
machines have no problems on any other maching..

I can not ping the machine, and cannot find it on the network..

It has a good connection and the ip shows when I go to site such as
whatismyip.com. When I us ipconfig /all everthing appears to be fine.

What am I doing wrong.

Did you enable Network detection in the network centre?
And set this network to work or private not public?
Ko.

For a test, disable McAfee or other security software like Norton and OneCare. Can you ping it by IP?
