can not open word

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on the issue with Word.

I go to a particular website that has a link to a Word document and word
does not launch. However, I can use that same website and can open a PDF
file. It seems to me that it is not a security issue, but an issue between
Internet explorer and word. any Ideas?

Hi Yoshi

The file association may have become corrupted. Try the following and see
if it helps.

Open Windows Explorer (not IE)
Find and highlight one of the Word files
Right click and select the Open with..
Click Word file type if in the list.
Close and then try it again.

If the Word is not in the Open with list, then do the following:

Open Windows Explorer (not IE)
Find and highlight one of the Word files and be sure it has the proper
extension
If not, click Tools>Folder Options>File type
Scroll down the list until you find the Word file type
Click Change and then OK
Close and then try it again

Aslo...

Try doing a "Save As" and save the file to the hard drive using the Word
format.

I have had several problems opening word. i would sometimes have to
restart my comp. to get word working.
