Can not open MS outlook containing contacts obtained from old, com

My old computer, a HP Pavilion crashed and the windows operating system would
not open, since a USB port was deleted and when I turned on the computer a
wizard found the new hardware but it was unable to retrieve the drive. I
had my data extracted by a professional service. All the other data opened
except upon attempting to open the contacts in the MS Outlook file, the new
computer, a HP Media center, states the personal .pst file can not be opened.
Help.
