Can not open links at any web page

Upgrade from win98se to winXP Pro. IE6.0 with all current
patches. Can go to any web site, but once there any link
that is clicked on nothing happens. Can even use the tab
key to move to a link and hit enter, nothing happens.

Jim,

I have a similar, though different problem. IE 6.0 under
Win2K. I can surf the net and jump from linked page to
linked page just fine, BUT if I try to hyperlink from an
HTML page sitting on my hard drive, to another page
sitting on my hard drive, then nothing happens... just
like you describe.
