can not modify options....

hi all!
i would just like to ask if it is normal that i can't modify the options i
previously choosed when i installed defender such as automatic scanning,
default actions...etc....

TIA 4 any reply!

That's definitely not normal! What exactly is stopping you from changing them?

But following on from my previous post, I wonder if you just haven't found
your way yet to the place where you can change them? Start Defender and click
on 'Tools'. Now click on 'Options' (top left of panel), and you can make all
the changes you want.

Sure, you can modify the options.

I suggest to modify one at the time, so you can feel the change.

Sorry I miss read your post, Alan in right.

You can repair Windows Defender.
First exit WD, Open WD main page, click the down arrow to the right of the
white question mark in blue circle and then click Exit Windows Defender;
using Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.
Click WD and click Change. Click Next, and then click Updªte.

Reboot

If you still have the same problem, try this:

First exit WD, Open WD main page, click the down arrow to the right of the
white question mark in blue circle and then click Exit Windows Defender;
using Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.
Click WD and click Support Information and click Repair.

Reboot.

i can now access tools/ options, whereas before it was as if there was a
white curtain that separates me from those options.....

thanks for the reply, but as i stated the problem is that i can't make
changes in tools/options.....

anyway, the problem's solved already thru Engel's advice.....
