looking for help. I deleted some entries in the W2K Prof.
Registry to eliminate some components spyware found as
potentialy harmful. Now my TCIP went away and my printer
files wet away. Every time I try to at the tcpip protocal
back in I get the message Could not add the requested
component. The erro is: A non-recoverable error occurred
during a data base look up. Does any one have any
suggestions???

In the event you do not have a backed up registry you could try
"How to Remove and Reinstall TCP/IP for Windows 2000"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;285034&Product=win2000

Never have done so and YMMV. And I do not know if the
"non-recoverable error occurred during a data base look up"
is directly related to the TCP/IP stack either.

Suggest that if necessary you learn how to backup fully the
system registry. It is times like this you wish you had.
