I am running XP Pro and began to have problem with
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 after installing a service pack.
After messing around for a few days, I uninstalled IE 6
with the intention of reinstalling it from the CD that I
have of it.
Now, however, when I start the setup program it always says
"Setup has detected a newer version of this program already
installed on this system. Setup cannot continue." and
everything closes.
This is true from the CD I got from Microsoft and from the
SP1 update I got from Microsoft online.
Can anyone tell me how to get this to install?
Thanks...Dave
E-mail reply would be appreciated.

You can't uninstall IE6. I don't know what you deleted. Try Start>Run>type
in "sfc /scannow" (without quotes, but with space).

I'm getting the same thing, have you figured out how to uninstall or reinstall it..

Mine wont work

Please help.
