I am running WXP on a SCSI system via a Adaptec
controller card. I need more HD space and since SCSI is
so expensive I opted for a 250gb Western Didgital HD.
I want to continue booting off the SCSI but I am having
trouble getting WXP to format the entire 250gb's all WXP
sees is about 130gb to format.
I have updated the BIOS for my motherboard and that did
not help.

You may have one of two problems (or both).

(1) Some motherboards can not handle disks bigger than 128 to 137 Gig,
depending on how you define a Gig. This is a BIOS limitation, and can be
fixed by a BIOS update (if available), or by a PCI adapter card withan
ATA/100 controller on it, whose BIOS can handle bigger disks. Maxtor makes
one, and I assume others as well.

Assuming a new motherboard and.or BIOS, the more likely problem is XP. For
larger disks, you need to have SP-1 installed and also enable LBA support.
