Can not get DNS to flush

I have a Windows 2000 Pro machine that will not refresh it's DNS. I have
tried ipconfig /flushdns then ipconfig /registerdns. Given it time and it
still will not renew it's DNS. When I ping compter xxxxx it comes back with
192.168.1.75 instead of 192.168.1.193. What else can I try?

Check the hosts file.
