I recently had some issues with my home pc. I ran 2
different virus programs- Fprot first told me that it was
able to clean or delete a number of infected files- a
suspicious file could not be deleted- WINLOG.CFG, but the
file could not be deleted.

Nortons, on the other hand at first seem to see no
problems, then about 2 days ago it had a popup that told
me the file was infected, would you like to delete the
file- after selecting yes- it popped up another message
that said the file could not be deleted, hit ok and the
first message came back up- it became a terminal loop and
I had to hard boot the system.
Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Yes- my copy of Norton's was recently updated- it could
not quarentine or repair the file- sometimes though the
file passes the virus scan but 2 out of 3 times it
fails...? Just looking for some answers- thanks though.

Can you move the file? If so, try moving it to a temp directory and
then see if you can delete the non-empty directory. If that doesn't
work, see if you can move the file to a formatted floppy, and then
reformat the floppy. If the file is inuse, you won't be able to delete
it, so boot into Recovery Console mode and see if you can then delete
it.
